Hyatt Is Building a Massive New All-Inclusive in Punta Cana — and the Details Are Incredible

If your family has ever dreamed of a go-big, no-surprises Caribbean vacation — the kind where everyone from toddlers to grandparents actually has a great time — you are going to want to hear this news.

Hyatt announced on March 11, 2026 that it has signed a management agreement for a brand-new flagship property: Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana, a family-friendly all-inclusive resort set to open in the Dominican Republic in 2029. And when we say flagship, we mean it — this resort is being designed to be one of the biggest and most fully loaded properties in the entire Hyatt Inclusive Collection portfolio.

650 Rooms, Five Pools, and a Water Park

The numbers alone are impressive. Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana will feature 650 guestrooms, including a dedicated adult-only building for couples or friends who want a quieter retreat within the same resort. The property will be located about 40 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport — an easy arrival for most travelers coming from North America.

Recreation is where this resort really shines on paper. Guests can look forward to:

  • Five pools, including an adults-only pool and a dedicated kids pool
  • A full water park on property
  • Pickleball and tennis courts
  • Mini golf, climbing walls, a ropes course, and a bowling alley
  • Kids Club and Teen Club with supervised daily activities

In other words, parents can actually relax by the pool without worrying that the kids are bored. That is the all-inclusive dream, and Hyatt appears to be taking it seriously.

Dining That Goes Way Beyond the Buffet

One of the most common complaints about all-inclusive resorts is the food. Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana looks like it is aiming to change that conversation. The resort is expected to feature:

  • Five specialty restaurants
  • An international buffet
  • A snack bar, coffee parlor, and ice cream venue
  • A beach club serving food and drinks throughout the day
  • An interactive kids’ food and beverage experience
  • Six bars plus a spa juice bar

That is twelve total food and beverage outlets — plenty of variety for even a week-long stay, which is exactly how long most guests tend to linger once they have found their rhythm at a great all-inclusive.

A Spa Worth Staying In

For guests who want to unwind, the spa lineup is equally ambitious. Plans include a fitness center, yoga studio, and outdoor gym, plus a full spa with sauna, steam rooms, a hamam (Turkish bath), hydrotherapy circuit, relaxation lounge, and even a bridal suite for couples celebrating a wedding or honeymoon.

Part of a Bigger Hyatt Push in the Dominican Republic

This announcement is not happening in isolation. According to Hyatt’s newsroom, the brand is also planning to open Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana and Secrets Macao Beach Punta Cana in the same region in 2026 — making Punta Cana one of the most exciting all-inclusive destinations to watch over the next few years.

Javier Aguila, president of Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection, pointed to the significance of the new partnership: “We are delighted by the trust placed in us by a valued owner like Codelpa,” referencing the existing property owner who is bringing Hyatt into the development.

What This Means for Your Vacation Planning

Hyatt Ziva Punta Cana is not opening until 2029, so it is not a trip you will be booking next month. But for families thinking about a big future vacation — a milestone birthday, a multi-generational trip, a honeymoon with room for extended family — it is the kind of property worth putting on your radar early.

In the meantime, Punta Cana already has a fantastic lineup of all-inclusive options, and the Dominican Republic continues to be one of the most accessible and rewarding Caribbean destinations for families and couples alike.
